This can happen for a few reasons. Please try the following first before contacting.

The wax I send to you needs to be warmed throughout to take a good impression. Your wax will be ready when it is similar to bluetac and you can easily roll it into a smooth ball. If its too warm it will be very sticky and break away, if its too cold it will be hard and not take a clear print.

If it is too sticky, allow it to cool.

If it is still hard, pop it into hot water for a few seconds then squish in your hands until its a smooth consistency.

Your dogs nose may be slightly wet. Make sure to use a tissue and wipe any moisture just before taking the impression.

When taking the impression try not to thin it out too much. The wax will get thinner when you press onto the nose, the thicker the wax the better it is to pick up the cleanest impression. To avoid this press the wax onto the nose/paw as a rolled ball rather than flattened out.

​Your dogs nose may be a little smooth! That's no problem, as your dogs noseprint is unique to them. The impression will reflect that. Remember each nose is unique and the perfect impression is one that picks up the detail specific to their snoots! 

The impression may look faint on the wax, it will stand out once cast in silver. If you are not happy with the impression for any reason, you can also take one of their paw. This picks up amazing details. Feel free to send me a photo before returning to check!

No worries, I can fill in any minor cracks when the impression is returned to me. If you want to avoid this however, allow the wax to cool down slightly.

You are able to try as many times as your dog allows. Please be mindful of their mood throughout, if they are showing signs or distress please stop immediately. If the wax is becoming dark red/black, you have used it too many times. I sell replacement wax as well as practice wax you can purchase with your kit. 

If you have paid the additional fee with your 2 dog nose print kit, follow instructions as usual. Pop each impression in the 2 pots they arrived in and post back to me. I will turn each impression into a double sided pendant. If you have not paid the additional custom fee, please get into contact with me to do so. Otherwise you will receive each impression pendants on two chains.

You are welcome to experiment with the wax however you wish. Please note the wax impression must fit back inside the pot to return. The pendant will be cast however the wax is presented to me.

This is an organic style jewellery kit. I can clean and shape your impression. But the overall piece will have an organic impression style.

Please use your kit within 6 months of purchase, silver price is on the increase and may make the kits price to go up too. If 6 months have passed I may need to charge extra.

Cut the return address from the label given in the kit, and place on the return box. Make sure the box is well sealed. Please return at a post office or online so you can get a proof of postage receipt in case of an issues with postage. You do not receive a prepaid return label.
